Recently, I had an epiphany of sorts. I realized that my team, and myself, needed to become more organized as a whole as well as individuals. I came to this revelation and decided to take advantage of the app asana. Asana is a web and mobile app that is designed to improve employee productivity by helping teams track their work, as well as communicate more efficiently. We are a close-knit team, so each employee wears multiple hats at any given time throughout the day. It can become difficult for each of us to focus on our individual tasks when there are so many responsibilities as a team. My primary goal for this organization tactic is for each member of my team to feel more confident in their role here and know that they are an important part of the company.
I believe that being more organized will help each individual on the team truly feel like they are an important part of the brand image we are creating here at True Film Production. This will help them understand what is going on in the company and the business. By understanding the ins and outs of the company each member will have more confidence conducting their work, understanding that there is a rhyme and reason to everything that we do. When everyone is confident about the company and the brand goals then they will be more hopeful to share innovative ideas that can keep the brand moving forward, striving to be better and to help continue the growth of the company and the brand.
This tactic is also going to help us create a more concise roadmap as to where we see ourselves in the next 6 months, year, 3 years, so on and so forth – it helps my team visualize the long and short term goals for the brand. For example, a more long term goal would be building a larger team with more locations in other states such as California, Chicago and Georgia. All current team members will be involved in the goal-setting stage in order reach this goal. Each individual will be able to view the progress of the company’s growth and continuously contribute their ideas as to how we could achieve this – or any goals – in the most efficient way. Everyone’s ideas and opinions will be considered, discussed, and chosen in the most diplomatic way.
In addition to helping the brand, this organization strategy helps team members visualize how they fit into the big picture. If the company has high goals then team members will have their own “aha” moment because they are able to anticipate their growth within the company knowing they had a lot to do with its success. It is important that my team knows how much they contribute to the company’s success every day by actually viewing the growth on a daily basis. Basically with the visualization of success the team as a whole and as individuals become more and more proud of their brand while actually being able to witness its growth.
My objective for each member of the team is to become a better individual and to help one another grow. We each bring our own strengths to the table and by utilizing this means of communication and organization we will be able to share ideas and goals, this provides everyone with the opportunity to learn from one another no matter what their title or stage in the company may be. In making sure that my team has a solid foundation to work and plan from I am setting everyone up for success – myself and the brand included.
