Here at True Film Production we consider ourselves to be video advocates and are always urging people to utilize video in their marketing efforts. With several statistics such as the ones found below, it’s hard to see why businesses would not want to stay on top of the competition and create videos to reach their target audience:
Those who see the benefit of utilizing video are turning into pioneers in the new marketing era that utilizes a multitude of platforms and a variety of mediums. One of our amazing and very successful clients, Squirrel Systems, seems to be one of the pioneers who has been taking advantage of video and incorporating it into their marketing strategy. For those of you who don’t know much about Squirrel Systems, they are a company that offers several point of sale system solutions to help accommodate different environments. We spoke with the company’s innovative Marketing Director, Jasmine Cruz who helped to shed some light on their marketing strategy which involves the use of video testimonials:
You seem to have a trend of getting a video testimonial for many of your clients, what made you decide to take this approach?
Our clients are the best advocates for Squirrel. We can talk all day long about why a business should choose us (and we do!), but the message is much more powerful when it comes from our end users. By focusing on the people using our point of sale systems and the environments in which they’re used, we can put a human face to our technology, which you can’t always do with a written testimonial letter. We have such a diverse customer base and the video testimonials really show that.
How has this approach been working for you in terms of your marketing efforts?
The videos have been a big part of our content marketing strategy. Not only are the videos prominently featured on the Squirrel website, but we have also repurposed the content elsewhere, such as on Tumblr (with this post about Café Reconcile being an example). Our salespeople have used the videos at the beginning of important presentations and we have played them on a loop in our tradeshow booths. From a web traffic perspective, we have seen an increase in the average number of monthly visits and unique visitors to our site, SquirrelSystems.com, since we started producing the video testimonials. We could not be more satisfied with the results!
You showcase the environment of your clients and how your POS solutions fit into their business model. We think this is an amazing approach and that many companies can learn from your strategy. As part of your strategy, you utilize video and many competitors do not. Do you think that utilizing video has given you a competitive advantage in creating a personal connection with prospective clients?
The videos have definitely given us a competitive advantage in creating a personal connection with prospective clients. Because of the products, services, and care we provide, Squirrel has been very fortunate to have strong, longstanding relationships with many of our customers (for example, Wolfgang Puck, Tribeca Grill, and Boca West Country Club). The videos do a fantastic job of showcasing these relationships and we believe they signal to prospective clients that Squirrel would be a worthwhile point of sale partner now and well into the future.
