Starting a business requires thorough planning and quite a bit of fortitude. Starting a business in a foreign country is double the trouble. Nevertheless, the lure of the American dream brings thousands of undaunted outlanders to the United States marketplace, thus stimulating the economy with diverse options while creating healthy competition. We truly admire the courage and determination of all foreign entrepreneurs, and that is why it was an absolute pleasure for us to do a corporate video production for HOWTOinUSA.com, a company that helps both domestic start-ups and professionals from abroad to understand and engage in business opportunities in the United States.
Founded by Scott Jones who moved to New York from the United Kingdom in 1993 and as an entrepreneur himself was exposed to the difficulties of business development, HOWTOinUSA.com reflects the experience of its creator and many other professionals, forming a network of business expertise. Now, shall we blow our own trumpet? Helping Scott to help others was our task for this corporate video production and, sure enough, it was a great success besides being a true pleasure.
The day assigned for the shoot rewarded us with the delightful weather allowing sunshine to be a source of a natural light for splendid outdoor shots. Upon arrival to the location our crew was greeted with a smile of a charming receptionist who showed us our way to the spacious and quite room. And thus it was the time for the show to begin: Lights! Camera!.. were set up within a moment with a professionalism of True Film Production team. Action! As an excellent public speaker, Scott Jones, did an astonishing job working on camera while explaining key features of his company. Job well done may seem to you as an easy job. Yet, there are many secret ingredients to the recipe of a good corporate video production. We are not greedy, we can share some with you!
Without getting into technicals details that will be taken care of by the professional production team you have chosen for your job, there are quite a few simple conditions essential for a successful corporate video. First of all, choose the space properly. Too little of natural light can easily be fixed with artificial lights, yet too many windows in a room will reduce your ability to control lighting. Silence is crucial when it comes to corporate video production: excessive background noise will interfere with the speech of your interviewee. Decorate your space. We are not talking about garlands or christmas lights here, your background should support the industry your business belongs to. For example, a video about a law firm may include the background with the shelves full of legal literature books, while an interview with a dentist should take place… yeah, next to the dental chair. All in all, the atmosphere should be welcoming for your potential client and that means avoiding colors that are too bright or too dark, removing disturbing objects, like a garbage bin, from the picture and, of course, smiling! Cheeeeeeeese!
